Law firms have data breaches too

In February, I wrote a post about how a law firm had a data breach.

Well, AmLaw 200 law firm -- Goodwin Procter -- was hit by a data breach in February (see link). While they weren't directly breached, one of its service providers Accellion was breached (see link). Accellion provides a secure file transfer application to numerous customers.

And, another law firm, Jones Day just admitted its data also was affected by the Accellion breach (see link).

Simply securing your own services is not sufficient anymore. Your data breach risk extends to your service providers.
