Instagram and embedding

It has been an interesting few years for Instagram on the embedding images issue.

Users started to complain that others were embedding their Instagram images. It appeared that Instagram may have permitted this. And, then courts found divergently that embedding did not violate copyright law and that embedding did violate copyright law. To solve the issue it created, Instagram has created new tools to allow its users to determine whether to allow such embedding (see link).
